That is absolutely
That is absolutely beautiful!
Lovely rug and a question
Did you give it to your daughter yet? Does she love it? You must have been making rugs for a long time to have been able to make this lovely floral patterned rug that you've showed us.
Best of luck and thank you for sharing your beautiful project with us.
I am just getting into different types of rug making myself. I have made a toothbrush rug, which was rather easy once I got the hang of it.
I am thinking of starting a new type of rug now. How would you describe the type of rug that you made? Is that rug hooking? And if so, can you recommend the best place to get directions for such an enterprise?
Thank you very much,
PK
Yes, she loves her rug!
Thank you PK.
I'm so glad you like her rug.
My daughter loves it! The colors in the rug match the colors in her room.
Although I have not been making ragrugs long, I too, like you, found it rather easy once I got the hang of it. This is a toothbrush ragrug I thought of while working on my blue flower rug prior to this one. I used both the round and oval tutorials here at the cafe, and integrated the "back and forth" technique. It was quite an adventure and great fun! I did confuse myself at times but great fun all the same.
This rug consisted of stops and starts for individual colors, counting the stitches around the edge for petal placement, and trying to correspond the stitches of one color (petal) to the stitches of the other color (petal). All of the petals were started directly on the rug. I am considering adding smaller, individual flowers around the edge. One of the great things about these techniques is the option to add on any time you want!
I've included a link below to a closeup of the rug. It may show a little more of what I mentioned above. If not, let me know and I will do my best to explain in more detail in my blog.
We would love to see pics of your rugs! I truly feel that each ragruggers accomplishments are wonderfully unique and inspiring!
Good luck on your adventure into different types of rugs!
